Van Cleef & Arpels Celebrates 100 Years of Art Deco with a Milestone Exhibition in Tokyo

Van Cleef & Arpels commemorates the 100-year anniversary of the 1925 Art Deco Exposition with a significant exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum, an exceptional example of Art Deco architectural design. Established in 1906 with the union of Alfred Van Cleef and Estelle Arpels, the Maison has been recognised for its poetic designs and outstanding craftsmanship for a long time.

The exhibition showcases around 250 items, including jewelry, watches, and objets d’art from the Maison’s Patrimony Collection and private contributions, as well as archival materials. Noteworthy pieces include the celebrated Intertwined Flowers, Red and White Rose Bracelet (1924), a Grand Prix–winning creation from the original Art Deco Exposition.

The exhibition unfolds in four thematic chapters, mapping out the rise of the Art Deco aesthetic, the development of Van Cleef & Arpels’ distinctive style, modernist design and functionality, and the perpetual savoir-faire that still typifies the Maison today.
